Chemical peel aftercare is an important step in the process. Chemical peels are one of the most common cosmetic dermatology treatments in the US used to improve skin texture and complexion. Proper aftercare is important for preventing breakouts, infection, and scarring.
Chemical Peel Aftercare

DO NOT WASH YOUR FACE UNTIL THE NEXT DAY AFTER YOUR PEEL

Skin may breakout because the peel will purge the skin

Breakout should only last 1 week to 1.5 week

Your skin care routine for 4/5 days should consist of ONLY cleansing, moisturizer and SPF 30, DO NOT USING ANYTHING ELSE BESIDES THIS SKIN CARE ROUTINE.

You can resume your regular skin care routine after 4/5 days

No long term sun exposure after a chemical peel

DO NOT WAX, SHAVE, TWEEZE, and THREAD for 4/5 days

Do not go in the pool, swim, beach and sauna for 3/4 days

Wear a hat to protect your skin

Skin may feel tight on the 2nd day

Skin may or may not peel on the 3rd day, absent of peeling does not mean the peel did not work

Do not exercise /do not do any vigorous activities that will make you sweat for 24 hrs

DO NOT PICK YOUR SKIN, let it flake off naturally

Wear SPF 30 or higher for 4/5 days ( you should already be doing this as part of your everyday skin care routine)

For clients with hyperpigmentation, it is HIGHLY recommended that you purchase the Glymed Diamond Bright Serum, this can be purchased at out studio

You can use the Glymed serum after 7 days or once peeling has finished

It is recommended to schedule your peels 3-4 weeks apart
